Hello, Pointelle.
Pointelle, what’s that
An exceedingly fine knit, typically in geometric patterns. Looks like lace. Doesn’t cost like it.
Pointelle was quite popular in the 1950s, and no wonder. It has that self-possessed look you saw in every issue of Vogue then. Thoroughly feminine without going over the edge into outright sugary, sultry, or snooty.
I’m sure you can think of quite a few situations where that kind of finesse would come in handy.
Pointelle Cardigan (No. 7274). Cotton/viscose blend with ribbed hem, neckline, and cuffs. Solitaire rhinestone buttons with silver shanks down from the front. Imported.
